Houses
Your areas of life
1st House
The 1st House begins at the Ascendant, the point of the zodiac that was rising in the east at your birth. It shows how you come across, how you take on new things, and what impression you leave.
2nd House
The 2nd House shows how you provide for your security: with money, possessions, and the skills you can make a living from. It also asks what you value and how much you value yourself.
3rd House
The 3rd House describes how you think, speak, and learn: how you take in information, sort it, and pass it on. Traditionally, siblings, neighbors, and short trips belong to it as well.
4th House
The 4th House begins at the IC, the Imum Coeli at the bottom of your chart. It describes your private life: your family, your origins, and the place where you come to rest.
5th House
The 5th House shows what makes you feel alive: play, being in love, creative work, and everything you do for the sheer joy of it. Traditionally, children belong to this house as well.
6th House
The 6th House shows how you organize your everyday life: work, duties, habits, and how you treat your body. This house is less about big goals than about what you do day after day.
7th House
The 7th House begins at the Descendant, directly opposite your Ascendant. It shows who you look for at your side, in love as well as at work, and how you behave in committed relationships.
8th House
The 8th House is about what you share with others: intimacy, joint finances, inheritance, and debt. It also describes how you go through crises and farewells, and what begins anew afterwards.
9th House
The 9th House shows what you believe in and what you seek: worldview, higher education, long-distance travel, and foreign cultures. Where the 3rd House gathers knowledge, the 9th asks what it means.
10th House
The 10th House begins at the MC, the Midheaven at the top of your chart. It shows what place you want to take in the world: your profession, your reputation, and what others know you for.
11th House
The 11th House shows where you find like-minded people: in friendships, groups, and networks. It describes the hopes and goals for which you join forces with others.
12th House
The 12th House ends at the Ascendant and closes the circle of houses. It shows what is at work behind the scenes: dreams, longings, old patterns, and whatever you would rather sort out on your own.
