17. Following

Sui (Following) describes the art of adapting smoothly to the quality of the time. The Lake (Dui) follows the Thunder (Zhen) – joy follows movement. It is not about submission but about 'active listening' to reality. One does not fight the market or the environment, but uses their kinetic energy.

AdaptabilityFlow State

Following meets with exalted success. Persistence is beneficial. No fault.

Adaptive Flow

Sui teaches us that leadership often means following the situation rather than forcing it (servant leadership).

Operative Resources

Resilience through flexibility. The ability to correct course without a blow to the ego.

System Blocks

Rigidity – Clinging to plans that reality has long since overtaken.

System-Hacks

Sync with the environment to minimize friction.

  • Calendar Audit: Do my appointments match my energy level?
  • Role Model: Who has already solved the problem I have? Follow them.

Image

In the midst of the lake is thunder: the image of Following. So, when darkness falls, the noble one retires to rest.

Shadow Challenge

Shadow: Opportunism – Tagging along without principles ('a weathervane') or blindly following influencers without checking for yourself.

Strategy

Adapt your strategy dynamically. Don't fight circumstances that cannot be changed. Use the current. Pay attention to WHOM or WHAT you follow.

The Lines

  • Beginning: Change of Mind (Change of Course)The guiding principle changes. Good fortune. Going out brings merit. Openness to new data changes one's mind. That is intelligence, not weakness.
  • Level 2: Misplaced Loyalty (Prioritization Error)Whoever hangs on to the little boy loses the strong man. You invest in unimportant contacts and neglect the important ones.
  • Level 3: Mature Letting Go (Ascent)Whoever hangs on to the strong man loses the little boy. By following, one finds what one is looking for. One must sacrifice the trivial to reach excellence. Focus.
  • Level 4: Corruption (Integrity Test)Following is granted success. Misfortune. Walking the path in truthfulness brings clarity. Flattery and networking at any price corrupt the goal. Stay honest.
  • Level 5: Excellence (Idealism)Genuine in what is good. Good fortune. One takes one's bearings from the highest standards and values.
  • Conclusion: Bond (Devotion)He finds a firm connection and, on top of that, is bound to it. The king presents him to the West Mountain. Entering into a deep, almost spiritual commitment.
