19. Approach
Lin (Approach) is the sign of the growing light. Earth over Lake – the water irrigates the earth. It is a phase of boom times, visibility, and influence. Great things lie ahead. Like a boss who personally walks through the company, one approaches things and people.
Approach meets with exalted success. Persistence is beneficial. With the arrival of the eighth month comes misfortune. Beware of the turning point.
Growth Management
Lin teaches us to make the most of phases of success without becoming arrogant or negligent.
Operative Resources
Drive. The energy to get things rolling and to inspire people.
System Blocks
Naiveté – The belief that the boom will last forever, and a failure to make provisions.
System-Hacks
Step on the gas.
- Launch Day: Start something today that you have been planning for a long time.
- Networking Offensive: Reach out to 3 people you admire.
Image
Above the lake is the earth: the image of Approach. So the noble one is unfailing in the will to teach and boundless in bearing with and sheltering the people.
Shadow Challenge
Shadow: Premature Celebration – The danger of forgetting, in euphoria, that every spring ends at some point ('When the eighth month comes...'). Carelessness.
Strategy
Get active! Approach people. Start projects now. The windows of opportunity are open. But in good times, provide for bad times (a safety net).
The Lines
- Beginning: With the Current (Launch Impulse)Shared approach. Persistence brings good fortune. One lets oneself be carried along by the positive current.
