45. Gathering Together

Cui (Gathering Together) shows the lake over the earth. People come together around a common center (an idea, a god, a leader/vision). Where many people are, enormous power arises, but also the potential for chaos. It takes strong leadership and clear symbols to organize the crowd. 'The king approaches his temple.' It is time to make sacrifices – that is, to put ego aside in favor of the community. Prepare for the unforeseen. Crowds are dynamic.

CommunityAssembly

Gathering Together. Success. The king draws near to his temple. It is beneficial to see the great man. This brings success. Persistence is beneficial. Great offerings bring good fortune. It is beneficial to undertake something.

Community

Cui is the power of synergy. Many parts form a new whole.

Operative Resources

Leadership. The ability to rally people around a vision.

System Blocks

Disorganization – gathering without a goal leads to dispersion.

System-Hacks

Gather yourself.

  • Meeting: Call your team/friends together today.
  • Symbol: Create a symbol of your unity (logo, ritual).

Image

The lake is above the earth: the image of Gathering Together. So the noble one restores his weapons in order to be armed for the unforeseen.

Shadow Challenge

Shadow: Dispersion – Aimless togetherness, mob mentality, or a lack of leadership that leads to chaos.

Strategy

Create a strong center. Make sacrifices for the team. Be a present leader. Ensure safety ('sharpen your weapons').

The Lines

  • Beginning: Seeking (Uncertainty)Being truthful, but not to the end. Now confusion, now gathering together. If one calls out, one can laugh again after a single clasp of the hand. Don't be sorry. You feel unsure but find a connection.
  • Level 2: Pull (Magnetic Pull)Allowing oneself to be drawn along brings good fortune and remains without fault. If one is truthful, it is beneficial to bring even small offerings. Inner attraction works more strongly than words.
  • Level 3: Outsider (Loneliness)Gathering together, with sighs. Nothing beneficial. Going there is without fault. You feel left out but seek a connection. Necessary humility.
  • Level 4: Success (Recognition)Great good fortune. No fault. You work for the whole and are recognized. Selfless service pays off.
  • Level 5: Trust (Leadership)If one holds a position, there is no fault. If trust is lacking, one fosters it through persistence. True authority takes time.
  • Conclusion: Grief (Isolation)Laments and sighs, tears in streams. No fault. You stand alone at the top, or mourn a togetherness you missed.
