Principle of Polarity
Opposites are two ends of the same scale.
The Essence
Observation: Hot and Cold are not different things, but different degrees of temperature. Logic: Every paradox can be resolved by recognizing that opposites are identical in nature but different in degree.
The Lever
Lever: Use the scale. If your character is stuck in fear, don't fight against it, but shift the focus along the scale toward focus or courage. It's a gradual change, not a jump.
