26. The Taming Power of the Great

Ta Chu (The Taming Power of the Great) shows the mountain above heaven. A paradox: the mountain holds heaven in place. It means focusing tremendous creative energy (heaven) through stillness and form (mountain). It is the phase of 'accumulation'. One gathers knowledge, money, contacts, and strength of character in order to be ready for the big breakthrough. A 'treasure trove of data' for the character.

PreparationResource Management

The Taming Power of the Great. Persistence is beneficial. Eating away from home brings good fortune (networking). It is beneficial to cross the great water.

Building Capital

Ta Chu is the phase of investing in yourself. Whoever wants to move great things must first absorb great things.

Operative Resources

Education. Access to the collected knowledge of humanity (or of the company).

System Blocks

Waste – Pointlessly squandering energy on short-term kicks.

System-Hacks

Store it.

  • Reading Time: Spend 30 minutes today reading a book that helps you move forward.
  • Savings Rate: Increase your savings plan today (financially or energetically).

Image

Heaven in the midst of the mountain: the image of the Taming Power. So the noble one comes to know the many words of former times and the deeds of the past, to give firmness to his character.

Shadow Challenge

Shadow: Congestion – Only ever gathering energy but never releasing it ('data hoarder'). Or: the arrogance of the knowledgeable.

Strategy

Collect yourself. Keep educating yourself (skill building). Learn from history/data. Renew yourself daily. Wait for the right timing to fire the starting gun.

The Lines

  • Beginning: Brake (Waiting)There is danger. It is beneficial to refrain. Do not go on. The time is not yet ripe. Conserving strength is now the best strategy.
  • Level 2: Pit Stop (Maintenance)The wagon's axle bearings are removed. One cannot travel. An enforced pause. Use it for maintenance and for gathering yourself inwardly.
  • Level 3: Training (Skill Building)A fine horse following others. Awareness of danger and persistence are beneficial. One practices steering the chariot and defending. Active training for when it counts.
  • Level 4: Prevention (Control)The horn board of the young bull. Great good fortune. One tames the wild force early, before it does damage. Risk management.
  • Level 5: Sublimation (Mastery)The tooth of a castrated boar. Good fortune. The dangerous force is neutralized or sublimated. One has one's 'weaker self' in check.
  • Conclusion: Breakthrough (Success)One gains the path of heaven. Success. The force is released and serves a higher purpose. The dam breaks (in a positive sense).
