27. Nourishment
Yi (Nourishment) resembles an open mouth. It is about the system's exchange with its environment: What do you let in (food, info)? And what do you let out (words, deeds)? 'You are what you eat' applies to thoughts too. It is time for quality control. Whoever consumes garbage produces garbage. Pay attention to your mental and physical diet.
Nourishment. Persistence brings good fortune. Look to nourishment and watch what you put in your mouth.
Quality Assurance
Yi reminds us that the system is only as good as what it takes in. Garbage in, garbage out.
Operative Resources
Self-regulation. The ability to distinguish what is healthy from what is harmful.
System Blocks
Excessive Consumption – Indiscriminately stuffing yourself with food, TV series, or news.
System-Hacks
Filter it.
- News Fast: No news for 24 hours.
- Slow Eating: Cook for yourself today and eat without your phone.
Image
At the foot of the mountain there is thunder: the image of Nourishment. So the noble one takes care with words and is moderate in eating and drinking.
Shadow Challenge
Shadow: Toxicity – Consuming toxic food/media or spreading poison yourself (gossip, negativity).
Strategy
Watch your 'diet'. Speak less, but more meaningfully. Eat mindfully. Maintain your system like a high-performance computer.
The Lines
- Beginning: Envy (Scarcity Thinking)You let go of your enchanted tortoise and look at me with drooping lips. Misfortune. Envy of others instead of using your own resources.
- Level 2: Dependence (Wrong Source)Turning toward the peak for nourishment. Departing from the path to look for food on the hill. Misfortune. One seeks fulfillment in the wrong place or makes oneself dependent on others.
- Level 3: Addiction (Malnutrition)Departing from nourishment. Persistence brings misfortune. For ten years, do not act on it. Nothing is beneficial. Consuming 'empty calories' (addiction, binge-watching).
- Level 4: Ambition (Drive)Turning toward the peak for nourishment brings good fortune. A tiger's gaze, lying in wait, full of craving. No fault. One ambitiously seeks the right resources to achieve great things (hunger).
- Level 5: Support (Cooperation)Departing from the path. But one remains steadfast. Good fortune. The great water is not to be crossed. One realizes that one needs company and accepts it.
- Conclusion: Responsibility (Provider)The origin of nourishment. Being aware of the danger brings good fortune. It is beneficial to cross the great water. One is the source of sustenance for others (leadership).
