28. Preponderance of the Great

Da Guo (Preponderance of the Great) shows a heavy roof on weak posts. The beam is bending. The system is close to the 'tipping point'. The pressure is enormous. This is a situation in which a lot is at stake. Ordinary measures are no longer enough. It takes courage and radical decisions to prevent the collapse or to bring it about in a controlled way (demolition). It is the time of the hero's journey, when one has to grow beyond oneself.

PressureCrisis

Preponderance of the Great. The ridge beam bends. It is beneficial to have a goal. Success.

System Overload

Da Guo is the stress test for character. It shows whether the foundation is strong enough for the vision.

Operative Resources

Steadfastness. The ability to stay clear-headed and upright under extreme pressure.

System Blocks

Overexertion – Having 'overreached' and not wanting to admit it.

System-Hacks

Prop it up.

  • De-Prioritization: Cross 3 things off your to-do list today, without replacing them.
  • Call for Help: Ask someone for concrete support with a difficult task.

Image

The lake reaches above the trees: the image of Preponderance. So the noble one stands alone without fear and leaves the world without wavering.

Shadow Challenge

Shadow: Burnout – Collapsing under the load or ignoring the warning signs ('cracks in the beams').

Strategy

Act immediately. Leave your comfort zone. Find supports (team/help). If the system can't be saved, dare a radical fresh start.

The Lines

  • Beginning: Caution (Safety)Laying white reed grass underneath. No fault. Extreme care at the start prevents collapse. Thorough preparation.
  • Level 2: Vitalization (Revitalization)The dried-up poplar sends up a shoot from its root. Old man, young woman. Everything is beneficial. Renewal of vitality through unusual combinations.
  • Level 3: Collapse (Crash)The ridge beam bends. Misfortune. Refusing to accept help (ego) leads to a fall.
  • Level 4: Support (Stabilization)The ridge beam is propped up. Good fortune. Should there be hidden motives, it is shameful. One gets help and stabilizes the situation. Teamwork saves the project.
  • Level 5: Illusory Bloom (Transience)The dried-up poplar bears blossoms. Old woman, young man. No fault, no praise. A last flowering, but no lasting substance.
  • Conclusion: Sacrifice (Heroism)One perishes wading through the water. Wet to the crown of the head. Misfortune. No fault. One fails heroically against overwhelming force. 'Going down fighting'.
