The 1st line seeks security through knowledge. It wants to understand, thoroughly and from the ground up, before it feels secure; without a foundation, insecurity and doubt arise. In the 5/1, this line works unconsciously. You may notice it mainly in feeling uncomfortable when you are supposed to appear unprepared, or in immersing yourself in a subject before you take a public position on it.

Healthy selectivity helps: not every problem is yours, and you don't have to step onto every stage.

In relationships, the 5/1 is often perceived as the calm, stabilising force, the person who knows what to do. That works as long as the picture is accurate; if it breaks, the disappointment can run deep on both sides, because it hung on a projection and not on the person.
