Personal Year Calculator

Your personal year is the number numerology gives a calendar year for you: your birth day plus your birth month plus the year, summed to one digit. It runs from 1 to 9 and starts again; the calculator names it as the UmbraLux app does, with your nine-year cycle and the personal months.

How the personal year is calculated

Three steps:

    Birth day and birth month

    Your birth year does not count: the year you look at takes its place.

    Add

    Birth day + birth month + year, for example 15 + 5 + 2026 = 2046.

  3. 3

    Sum the digits

    Add the digits until one is left: 2046 → 12 → 3. That is the personal year; from one year to the next it moves on by one, from 9 back to 1.

Example: born on 15 May, the year 2026

15 + 5 + 2026 = 2046 → 12 → 3: 2026 is a personal year 3 for everyone born on 15 May, 2027 a personal year 4. The cycle began with the 1 in 2024 and ends with the 9 in 2032.

The personal months add the month: January is a personal month 4 (3 + 1), September a personal month 3 (3 + 9 = 12 → 3).

What the personal year means in numerology

Numerology reads the nine personal years as a cycle: the 1 begins something new, the 9 closes and lets go. Each year has its theme, which the personal year names.

Your life path number stays the same all your life; the personal year changes every year and describes the time you are in.

Questions about the personal year

When does the personal year begin?

The calculator counts the calendar year from 1 January, as the UmbraLux app does. Some numerologists let it begin on your birthday; then the number of the year before holds until your birthday.

Why is there no personal year 11 or 22?

The personal year describes a cycle of nine years, so the calculator sums it to one digit as the app does. Some schools keep the master numbers 11 and 22 here too.

What is a personal month?

The personal year plus the number of the month, summed to one digit: in a personal year 3, January is a personal month 4.

How does the personal year relate to the life path number?

Both come from the birth date: the life path from day, month and birth year, and it stays; the personal year takes the current year instead of the birth year. In your birth year, and every nine years after, it is your life path number summed to one digit.

No. The calculation runs in your browser; your date is neither sent nor stored. Only your device remembers your last entry, and you can delete it below the form.
