Example: Jana Müller, that is, JANA MUELLER. JANA: 1 + 1 + 5 + 1 = 8. MUELLER: 4 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 3 + 5 + 9 = 32. Sum: 8 + 32 = 40, digit sum 4 + 0 = 4. The expression number is 4. Counting the ü only as u gives 35 and therefore 8; UmbraLux calculates with ue.

In the German version of your UmbraLux profile, it appears as Schicksalszahl; the library lists it as the expression number.

Some German-language books, however, use the word for the number from the date of birth. That number is the life path number; you can calculate it with the life path calculator. So if you read that the destiny number is calculated from the day, month and year and describes your life theme and your lessons, the life path number is meant. The number from your name is a different one and describes your talents.

Name number, finally, is simply another name for the expression number. Whether a book says expression number, name number or destiny number, what matters is what the number is calculated from. If it comes from the full name, it is the same number.

Soul Urge and Personality Number: the Two Halves of Your Name

Two more numbers come from the same name. The vowels alone give the soul urge number, also called heart’s desire: your innermost longing.
