Chakra by Birth Chart

The chakra teaching knows no horoscope. The UmbraLux app still assigns a chakra to every sign and counts the points of your birth chart, weighted as for the doshas: the chakra with the most points is your strongest by the assignment. The calculator shows it with every point that goes into it.

Date of birth

As exact as you can, ideally from your birth certificate.

Your place is missing? Take the nearest town; a few kilometres hardly change the result.

The calculation runs in your browser. Your birth data is neither sent nor stored; only this device remembers your last entry. · Place data: GeoNames (CC BY 4.0)

How the app counts the chakras

Three steps:

  1. 1

    The signs

Capricorn and Aquarius stand for the root chakra, Sagittarius and Scorpio for the sacral, Aries and Virgo for the solar plexus, Leo and Libra for the heart, Taurus and Gemini for the throat, Cancer for the third eye (the library's Intuition Center), Pisces for the crown (Integration Center).

  2. 2

    The count

Every point counts in the chakra of its sign with its weight: the Ascendant 4, Sun and Moon 3, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn 2, all others 1. Cancer and Pisces count twice, as the only signs of the third eye and the crown. Without a birth time the axes drop out.

  3. 3

    The strongest

The chakra with the most points comes first; where several share the most, the app names the lower one.

Example: 15 May 1990, 14:30, Berlin

The chart gives the Root Center 8 points, more than any other: by the assignment it comes first. The table below the result shows each point with its sign.

How reliable is this assignment?

It is an assignment, not a reading: the link between signs and chakras is UmbraLux's and not part of the chakra teaching. For 5,000 simulated births each chakra comes first in 11 to 19 percent of the charts.

The assignment says nothing about your health; questions about it belong with a doctor.

Questions about the chakra by birth chart

Can the chakras be calculated from the birth chart?

Not by the chakra teaching itself, which works with the body and breath, not with a horoscope. This calculator shows which chakra the UmbraLux app finds strongest in your chart.

Why do Cancer and Pisces count twice?

Because the third eye and the crown have one sign each, the other five chakras two. Counted once, the two came first for just 0.8 percent of 5,000 simulated births each and the root for 27 percent; counted this way, each chakra comes first for 11 to 19 percent.

Do I need my birth time?

It adds the Ascendant, which weighs most, the MC and their opposite points. Without a time the calculator counts the planets only, as the app does.

Is my data stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser; your date, time and place are neither sent nor stored. Only your device remembers your last entry, and you can delete it below the form.
