Kabbalah by Birth Date

Jewish Kabbalah knows no calculation from the birth date. The UmbraLux app still assigns you three places on the Tree of Life: a path by your Sun sign, as the Golden Dawn gave the signs their paths, and a Sephira with its world from numbers of your date and name. The calculator shows this assignment with every step.

Date of birth

As exact as you can, ideally from your birth certificate.

Your place is missing? Take the nearest town; a few kilometres hardly change the result.

As on your birth certificate: numerology counts the letters.

The calculation runs in your browser. Your birth data is neither sent nor stored; only this device remembers your last entry. · Place data: GeoNames (CC BY 4.0)

How the app assigns the places

Three steps:

  1. 1

    The path

The Golden Dawn gave each sign of the zodiac a Hebrew letter and with it one of the 22 paths: Aries 15 (He), Taurus 16 (Vav) and so on to Pisces 29 (Qoph).

  2. 2

    The Sephira

The day, the digit sum of the date and the value of the name (A = 1, B = 2 … by the app's letter values) are each reduced to a Sephira (1 to 10, 11 for Da'at), then added and reduced again.

  3. 3

    The world

The app gives the Sephira one of the four worlds: 1 to 3 Atziluth, 4 to 6 and Da'at Beriah, 7 to 9 Yetzirah, 10 Assiah.

Example: Maria Weber, 15 May 1990, 14:30, Berlin

Day 15 → 6; date 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 + 0 + 5 + 1 + 5 = 30 → 3; name 29 → 11. Together 6 + 3 + 11 = 20 → 2: the Sephira 2, Chokmah, in the world Atziluth.

The Sun stood in Taurus: path 16, Vav (ו).

How reliable is this assignment?

It is an assignment, not a teaching of the Kabbalah. The paths of the signs follow the Hermetic Qabalah of the Golden Dawn, as Liber 777 lists them; the Sephira and the world from date and name are UmbraLux's own.

Questions about the Kabbalah by birth date

Can the Kabbalah be calculated from the birth date?

Not in Jewish Kabbalah. The Hermetic Qabalah of the Golden Dawn links the signs of the zodiac to the paths of the Tree of Life; the app uses that link and adds a Sephira of its own from your date and name.

Why does the name count?

The Sephira joins the day, the date and the name, as numerology does. The app counts the name you were given at birth: first names and birth name.

Do I need my birth time?

The path and the Sephira hold without it. The app also lists a path for the Ascendant; without a time it leaves the Ascendant out.

Is my data stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser; your date, time, place and name are neither sent nor stored. Only your device remembers your last entry, and you can delete it below the form.
